Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
Your BAH will be used in one of two ways. You can either rent on base or you can live off base. If you live off base, you can either rent or buy. Click Here for current BAH rates.
On Base Housing ( Rent On-Base )
You can contact the housing office at 402-294-6242. Please keep in mind that there is a process involved in renting on Base housing to include wait times.

Offutt Air Force Base is home to the first atomic weapons that were constructed for use in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. During World War I, the base was officially established as an Army Air Service balloon field. Offutt Air Force Base is located near Omaha, Nebraska. Housing is privatized through Omaha-based companies and offers over 900 housing units which have there and four bedroom floor plans. Military personnel are instructed to check in at the Housing Management Office to sign up for available housing as a waiting list may be in effect. If arriving unaccompanied, the single soldier will stay in one of 900 dormitory rooms. All rooms are private. For off-post housing, there are apartment complexes within five miles from the base as well as single family homes for sale or rent. The BAH rate that applies to each individual will determine how much allowance will be provided to cover rent costs. Special needs families will have top priority.
Temporary lodging is provided by more than 60 temporary lodging facilities. The units are non-smoking and are approved for 30 days or less until more permanent housing can be found. The lodge will not accept pets, so nearby kennels are utilized. The reservation desk is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call #402-294-3671. For children who live on-post, Bellevue Public School District provides 15 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and 2 high schools. If families live off-post, children will attend either Council Bluffs or Glenwood, Iowa, or Murray, Springfield, or Gretna, Nebraska schools. Homeschooling has a one of the largest homeschooling programs available through the Bellevue Offutt Homeschool Group. More information can be obtained by calling the Welcome Center at 402-827-8554.
